We are a full service design firm that specializes is both hospitality and residential interior design. Our commitment is to create an environment that reflects a client’s wishes and desires while respecting budget and time constraints. I began my career with Richard Byars Interior Design as Susan Brown. Since 1989, I have conducted business as Susan Brown Spieler and the name of my firm is Spieler Interior Design Associates. Since my years with Richard Byars, I have successfully created my own firm and have worked on numerous projects throughout Santa Barbara and Northern California.  

Spieler Interior Design Associates has been featured on HGTV's number one show, Designer's Challenge episode: Sophisticated Family Room #DSC-1109, and was selected as the winning design team for the project. Additionally, we have been published the June 2000 and June 2003 issues of Audio Video Interiors and the Spring 2004 issue of Santa Barbara Season Magazine.  

Hospitality Interior Design / Re-Imaging Service We are capable of handling any size hotel design project, from new construction to a simple cosmetic remodel. Our experience includes multiple hotel projects in California, including The Orchid Inn at Santa Barbara and The Orchid Inn at San Simeon, both of which were purchased as investments repositioned in the market and sold. We specialize in re-imaging and re-positioning hotels in the real estate market, with an emphasis on increasing occupancy and ADR. Residential Interior Design The residential area of our firm offers services ranging from construction management and finish specification, down to fabrics and trims.  Our firm is perhaps best known for our sophisticated and often bold use of color, while maintaining the highest level of elegance in primarily high end homes.  We work on projects of any size or scale, and have the ability and experience in working on projects outside of our office area by offering online services.  Please contact us with any questions on our services.
